The graphics floor tells the same story: the GeForce GTX 770 and the Radeon R9 290 are 2013-era cards, and the recommended GeForce GTX 970 and R9 390 are only one generation newer.

The practical consequence is that this game should run on hardware most modern releases ignore — older gaming laptops, office desktops with a modest discrete card, and machines that have been quietly retired from other genres. For a builder that renders a whole county with procedurally generated buildings filling in street by street, that is a deliberate scalability choice.

The RAM line is the one to watch rather than the GPU line. Region-scale simulation with many settlements, logistics moving in the background and a population layer on top tends to be memory and CPU bound rather than pixel bound. If your machine is near the floor, the October demo is the free way to find out where it actually struggles.

The Windows 7 Line, Explained

The official minimum and recommended blocks both name Windows 7 and higher as the operating system, and both carry the same note: a 64-bit processor and operating system are required.
